Well That was Awkward!
So, today has been full of awkwardness.
We filmed for my friends music video (for film in school) where she had accidentally cast me and my twin brother to have a "meaningful" look and hug. By accident. And she seriously didn't figure that out until we filmed... yup, likely. Not.
My bestie (also a twin) had her birthday dinner, but she and her brother had to invite someone of the opposite sex. Her brother invited me. Again... awkard!
I accidentally walked into my parents Bible study when i came back from said dinner. Loudly. After laughing with my friend down the driveway. Cus we're mature... totally...
So answer me, why was today awkward?

Study is DONE!
I have my final maths exam today, and then i'm done :)
To celebrate this happy event, one of my friends for her film class is getting about 20 of us together, dressed as stereotypes (i'm a depressed teen), to have a "party" (on the school oval) for her music video assignment... she's doing it to Kids by MGMT (hopefully her film clip is less freaky then that one. The guy with face paint? not natural...).
And while i fully support the idea of her film clip, as repayment for staying on after our final exam she's providing us with REAL soda and candy. Let's see if you've found the problem yet... So, I'm supposed to be depressed looking. And they're giving me sugar. Think about it... (check out the title of the blog)... got it yet?? Yup.
Sugar + depressed DON'T mix.
And i'm rubbish at acting, so lets see how this one goes...
After that, mum's very kindly giving me and some friends a lift to the mall, to by final stuff for camp :) so essentials like playing cards, candy watched, chocolate, candy...
And then i get to go to my best friend's birthday dinner!
So overall today is awesome because of everything :)
How goes your day??

Dress Like a 3 Year Old
I just realised how long it's been since i've actually posted a "how to" blog, mainly i've been posting "lists of awesomeness" recently... So i'm rectifying that mistake :)
For school camp this year we have a themed dress up night, this year with a 90s theme - dress in 90s fashion/90s celebrity/90s children show/as you were in the 90s... so, being the entirely mature gal i am, i convinced my friends to dress up like 3 year olds with me.
Now, as anyone who has met me and my friends (or even heard of us) should know, we're really not mature at all. Teachers pets, yes, but mature?... not so much. Thankfully, this means we don't have to have any acting skills to become three year olds. However, we need costumes. So here it is (i'll post a pic after the event, ok??)
Shoes - black flats (because none of us have little kiddy shoes) and white socks with lace on them (we actually have to sew the lace onto our socks, but we think it's worth it)
Skirts - swishy, little-kid-esque skirts that vaguely (ie in no way at all) match...
Shirts - we've each bought a plain top and are using those iron on transfers to put a graphic on them... so like i've made one with a dinosaur (and glitter writing proclaiming this) or my friends got an elmo one...)
Hair - pigtails with not-matching-ribbons and ringlets. Cus little kids have ringlets. But messy ones, cus what little kid has neat hair?? none, i assure you.
Make-up - lipstick mainly off the lips (bright pink), bright blue eyeshadow (again, fully into eyebrows), lipstick blush... pretty much, we're doing the whole shebang (don't you love that word??)
Accessories - candy bracelet, icky beads, stick on earrings, those tacky adjustable rings...
Additions - a toy (my friends has a tickle me elmo. SO jealous!), and a dress up item (i have a princess crown and some fairy wings)
Suggestions?? seriously appreciated, please comment!!

And Now, A Little Night Music
ok, not really. But i've always loved saying that.
This is just a deviation from my normal blogging habits to tell you all that I've started a second blog, in which i am allowed to be pessimistic and share with you all the woes of my daily life (rather then the positive/funny things that happen/random things in my head, that this one is).
Anyways, feel free to check it out (or ignore it, like it deserves): Licorice is Icky (and so is this blog)
With that, i bid thee goodnight (can we tell i watched P&P last night??)

Coolest Subjects Around
Heya all :)
I was listening to Hamish and Andy this morning, and one of the listeners who rang in was talking about her "natural disasters" class. That she takes in high school. Yup.
Needless to say i was extremely jealous, so i thought i'd come up with a few awesome subjects of my own, to be taught at my chocolate appreciation academy (now taking enrollments for semester 2 2010).
Oreos 101 - here you learn the 5 true ways to enjoy an oreo, discover how they were invented and discuss why they play such an important part in society today. Assessments include a demonstration of a new way to use Oreos in cooking
Literature Appreciation - in this subject students are encouraged to read at least 1 book every term. Books are chosen by the student, without the need for teacher's approval. A 20 minute examination that requiring students to give a brief overview of the book provides the student's mark.
Facebook for Dummies - for those just beginning their facebook journey, this course explains such things as the Wall, Facebook Chat and naming albums. Each student provides a facebook profile to be assessed at the end of the semester.
Have ideas for other awesome subjects? Leave their name and description in the comments :)

Tim Tams are Awesome
I'm not actually sure these are sold anywhere other then Australia, so the picture (in case you were entirely oblivious) is of a packet of Tim Tams... basically, you get two rectangular chocolate biscuits (they're quite thick, about 1cm) and stuff chocolate topping in between them, and coat it all with chocolate. Anyway, we were enjoying a packet of Tim Tams as a study snack the other day and my friends were horrified to learn that i know how many Tim Tams there are in a packet (all flavours except caramel or double coated there's 11, caramel and double coated there's 9). Due to this, i thought i'd publicly air some of the random chocolate/lolly trivia i know.
1) there is 96 individual pieces of chocolate in a family sized cadbury block of chocolate. With the exception of the "breakaway" flavour (there's only 48 pieces in that), the all varieties of Cadbury chocoalte in the family variety consist of 12 rows, each with 4 pieces of chocolate.
2) Natural Confectionery Company, Schweppes, Chuppa Chups and Cadbury are all owned by the same company. Which is possibly not odd, seeing as they're all aimed at different markets, but interesting none the less.
3) Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were first sold in the 1920s. As opposed to Hershey's (which obviously bought Reece out at a later stage) which was founded in the 1890s. Also, Hershey's Park was originally only for employees... because what they really needed was another incentive to go work for the best company in the world (not).
Mum's calling for dinner, so i'll leave you with that small amount of knowledge :)

Happy Day-Before-Pi-Day!
As most people know, Pi in mathematics is roughly 3.14... and as most American's can tell you, in 1 days time (well, for me anyway. I think it's still 2 days time in America) it will be March the 14th, aka 3/14, aka PI DAY! to celebrate this momentous date, my maths C class (this is the extra maths i take, with only 7 other students) are having the first ever maths C excursion to the local bakery to buy pies. Which is super exciting, seeing as exam block starts 2 days later, so we're basically getting an excuse to miss boring revision lessons, for a holiday that doesn't even work here Down Under (we write the date as 14/3...). In any case, my friend and i spent last night coming up with some of the many reasons pies should be celebrated on pi day.
1) they have a circumference - with the exceptions of pizza and cookies, pretty much no other food has a perimeter that uses pi in its formula. 1 point for Pies.
2) pieces can be measured using radians - with the exception of pizza (again), what other food would you slice up into equal pieces using radians, aka angles with pi? None, i tell you. 2 Points for Pies
3) they're called "pies"... - which is obvious, but the chief reason that pies should be celebrated on pi day, obviously, is the fact that they're homonyms. What other food shares this glorious name? Can't think of one, can you. 3 Points of Pies.
And with that settled, i shall leave you to organise your own pie day celebrations. Comment me with ideas, what you're doing, or your favourite kind of pie. Mine's apple ;)

Procrastination
Because doing something when you first have the chance is over-rated ;)
Seriously though, I have a major physics assignment due tomorrow morning and what do I find myself doing? Writing a blog, of course, because that's definitely going to help me...
In any case, due to lack of ideas on what to blog about (i'm seriously just writing this to put of rectifier circuits for another 10 minutes) I thought i'd share with you all my personal favourite ways to procrastinate! Not that I condone it or anything...
1) SparkNotes - well, most of you know all about SparkNotes, but i thought I'd mention it anyway... what I mean is not the SparkLife section that entraps so many, but the actual educational part. For example, for the last 15 minutes I have been reading the SparkNotes for Pride and Prejudice, not because we're studying it (well, not for another month anyway) but because I wanted to find out what the Sparkitors thought about Darcy.
2) Playlists on YouTube - invariably with each study period i will create a new playlist on youtube or itunes, filled with songs that inspire me to learn... or at the very list, songs that are catchy and always cheer people up. But getting the perfect blend of dance, bubblegum pop and classic disney is a time consuming process, and can lead to days of procrastination.
3) Organise your desk/diary/computer folders - this way you feel you have achieved something while you've been avoiding work, if only confusion over where your favourite pen now is.
4) Write a Blog - even if it's just rambling on, it still makes you feel like you've written something ;)
Anyways, hope you guys have a more productive time then i'm having...

Bust out those Blues
Assignments are upon my once again, as it draws ever nearer to exam block and those magical times that are HOLIDAYS! But before I get to hang up my uniform for those two weeks of bliss, there's just the small matter of assessment to keep me up at night. It's only a tiny blip of stress in the scheme of things, granted, and while I know that getting a "B" in a subject won't actually kill me, all teachers are acting like it will. And with this pressure comes some major stress.
Anyway, so i'm overly stressed right now due to varying assignments (darn me and my need to pick nerdy subjects!) and i'm about to share with you the small amount of techniques i have for surviving the study time blues.
1) chocolate - as you may have guessed, this is pretty much my answer to everything. As the saying goes, "chocolate is the answer - who cares about the question?"... thus the motto of my life. But in all seriousness, chocolate actually does release endorphins, and as Legally Blonde taught us, endorphins make you happy (and happy people just don't kill other people).
2) music - right now i'm listening to a mix of dance music, 21 Guns, Taylor Swift and a piece by Dvorak (and no, i don't expect you to know who he is). Point is, music has the amazing ability to change your mood... so put on some upbeat numbers and bop around a bit while typing up assignments, or fully dance while rereading notes. It has actually been proved that moving while learning forms stronger bonds in your brain, so you may as well make the most of the time to burn off the calories from our first solution ;)
3) scream at something - preferably not a living thing, screaming at inanimate objects is one of the quickest ways to release tension surrounding your school work. Computer not working? No problem, just tell it how much you hate it and how much it will regret crossing you when you replace it. Printer jamming? Sarcastically inform it of how much you *love* having your assignments chewed up. Best of all, they can't respond so you don't have to think of witty comebacks.
4) write notes up in pretty colours - I don't know about you, but staring at boring black and white pieces of paper just about puts me to sleep. Thus, i have two marvelous little pencil cases, one filled with coloured pens, sharpies, highlighters and my black pen (singular, because you can't write exams in pink unfortunately) and a second filled with crayons, coloured pencils, glitter gel pens and textas. On top of making your work look more interesting, the use of colours actually helps most people learn.
5) shred a second copy of your assignment - as a reward for finally handing in your draft/essay, print off a second copy and shred. The satisfaction is amazing, trust me. If you're artistic, make a picture of a dinosaur or zombie face to stick on your shredder and make realistic noises so you can feed your assessment to a monster
So that's about it... my coping techniques when life gets too hard for me to deal with. Any other ideas? Post them in the comments :)

It's Raining, It's Pooring...
Hello ;)
So, for the fourth day running, it's raining here in boredomesville. Which would be all well and good, but i'm supposed to be doing assignments (as you can probably guess, seeing as i'm writing this...) which really just takes away the joy of RAIN(!) a bit.
To celebrate this rain (and further the procrastination) I'm going to write a list of 7 awesome things to do while it's raining. Why 7, you ask? Because 7 is the best number, of course! Seriously, I was aiming for 10 and got called to dinner. But hey, 7 is actually my favorite number, so there you go...

Seriously, I was aiming for 10 and got called to dinner. But hey, 7 is actually my favorite number, so there you go...
- Read a book in bed with your quilt wrapped around you, a mug of coffee beside you and chocolate in your mouth... ok, so i did actually get to do that for a small amount of time today, and let me tell you it is AWESOME!
- Run around in the rain, having a water fight with your best friend. I've done this a few times before, partly because the drain in our backyard always overflows when it rains even vaguely heavily (think anytime it rains, basically) which is SO MUCH FUN to splash around in. And you need your best bud to share it with
- Snuggle up in a beanbag and watch a movie. I would suggest one which takes place where it rains alot, or where it snows alot, because a movie in bright sunny California may make you slightly depressed about the movie.
- PUDDLES! They're pretty much the best invention in the history of ever, with the possible exception of crunchy leaves on paths... splish, splosh, splash away my friends ;)
- Boardgames. I know, they can be boring, but playing a good game of Monopoly with siblings can be lots of fun. Plus, house rules state that if it's raining, play stops when the rain ends... whoever has the most money (through cash and properties value)
- Run around to everyone at school and yell "IT'S RAINING!". Yes, it's annoying and yes, it's immature but it's also highly appropriate (it IS raining, after all) and lots of fun. Best performed with another slightly-maturity-challenged individual.
- UGG BOOTS! because it's raining, it's cold (well, not really, but work with me here). Because it's cold, you get to wear cold weather gear. Because you get to wear cold weather gear, you get to wear Ugg Boots :) which are just the best footwear on the planet. As an added bonus, I've got heals added to mine (because of various foot issues) so i'm also 2 inches taller with them on then barefoot.
