OHMYGOSHNESS!!!!!
I have a formal dress.
And it's Pretty... :) (think that great line from Devil Wears Prada when you read that)
Anyways, it's a strapless (well, it has straps that you can clip on) shot taffetta dress, with rouching down to the hips (but it finishes on a slant, so it finishes a bit above one hip and on top of the other). It's deep blue, floor length, sort of sweetheart neckline, with a scoop skirt...
basically it's beautiful and everything i was looking for, and it was half price as well so my parents will pay for new jewellery and a clutch and maybe even some heels... which is super exciting (and entirely not expected)
And just to top it all off, the dress ended up being less then my brother's suit (or even hiring my brother's suit) so mum is super excited... and because it was so cheap, even though it doesn't fit perfectly at the hips (yet), if it has to go to an alterations lady mum will pay for it... which is good, cus i'm so short it definitely has to be hemmed (I can't walk in it yet), and it's not a straight hem so i'll have to get someone to hem it anyway.

Randomness :)
So i'm back again (aren't I good??) and I promise to regularly blog again... really...
Anyways, i've finally finished exams and my senior year is officially 1/2 over!!! Which is sad and happy, but extremely exciting.
In other news, i've begun formal dress shopping, so fingers crossed i'll have one by the weekend and post you guys a pic :)
Back to the blogging thing
So, I was playing around on youtube (as you do) and started getting all nostalgic about some ads that used to be on down here... These ads have become legendary down under, with their phrases quoted daily.
During the time of Emperor Nasi Goreng... Too many rabbits in China. This ad is from the then government owned telephone company in Australia.One of the most quoted ads in Australia...
Charter boat, what charter boat? Only shown in Queensland, one of a series of ads from RACQ, our state's main insurance company. And sorry about the quality, it's the only version on youtube.
Not happy, Jan! Useful when annoyed at anyone or anything (and used far too much as newspaper headlines), it's an ad for the Australian version of the yellow pages.
And only 2% fat. Not the part of the ad we were actually supposed to remember, but the line that's stuck anyway. Pauls is the main milk company over here.

Excitement
So i get home yesterday and a letter announcing the date of my formal (like the prom, only in Australia) had arrived. To which you go OMGOSHNESS I'M ALMOST FINISHED WITH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
and then hang your head in sham eover the amount of exclamation points, and the fact that the last one was a 1. sorry bout that.
Anyways, so my formal date is now official, as is the time and place... which just makes it all the more real. And all the more depressing, since i have to find a dress, decide how i want my hair, what shoes, get someone to do my makeup, organise who i'm going with and how we're getting there, decide what after party to attend, buy a purse... the list continues.
So as excited as i was by this last night, it's just another thing i'm now stressing about.
Anyways, that's it until after exams are done... 1 week and counting, then i'll have a life again :)
