Really. Just in case you hadn't already guessed...

So, in news of general importance:
I promise i will post a pic of my dress once i actually have a picture of it. Oh, and i also now have the shoes (black with diamontes), clutch (black with... diamontes!) and jewellery (diamontes, with diamontes). So all i have to do is figure out the hair, make up, and car, and i'm GOOD to go! Which is very exciting, and a lot of pressure off.

So... I haven't posted in a while. And i'm sorry. But i'm goign to rectify this...
And with that little announcement, we begin!

How To: Go Back to School with Style

1) Wear something new. Be this a new top (if your school doesn't have a uniform policy), a new hair accessory or a new bottle of foundation... something new and nice will definitely make you slightly more enthusiastic about school, and thus school more enjoyable.

2) Come prepared with an answer to "What did you do on your holidays". For some reason, even after a 2 month holiday people think that you can sum that answer up in one sentence. On top of that, "not much", "nothing" or "heaps" are generally not acceptable answers. Prepare yourself: "I went to the zoo, spent some time with friends and avoided sunburn like the plague" or "my family went to Sydney" are viable answers that will keep the questioner happy and enable you to move on with the conversation.

3) Remind yourself of all those boring times on holiday. Sure, on the whole it was definitely better then the study you endured during those last few weeks before the holidays, but they were the worst school has to offer. The initial week, if not a bludge, at least has a heap of gossip from the holidays.

4) Start the count down calendar. If all else fails, chances are there are less then 100 days till your next holidays.

Happy Day-Before-Pi-Day!

As most people know, Pi in mathematics is roughly 3.14... and as most American's can tell you, in 1 days time (well, for me anyway. I think it's still 2 days time in America) it will be March the 14th, aka 3/14, aka PI DAY! to celebrate this momentous date, my maths C class (this is the extra maths i take, with only 7 other students) are having the first ever maths C excursion to the local bakery to buy pies. Which is super exciting, seeing as exam block starts 2 days later, so we're basically getting an excuse to miss boring revision lessons, for a holiday that doesn't even work here Down Under (we write the date as 14/3...). In any case, my friend and i spent last night coming up with some of the many reasons pies should be celebrated on pi day.

1) they have a circumference - with the exceptions of pizza and cookies, pretty much no other food has a perimeter that uses pi in its formula. 1 point for Pies.

2) pieces can be measured using radians - with the exception of pizza (again), what other food would you slice up into equal pieces using radians, aka angles with pi? None, i tell you. 2 Points for Pies

3) they're called "pies"... - which is obvious, but the chief reason that pies should be celebrated on pi day, obviously, is the fact that they're homonyms. What other food shares this glorious name? Can't think of one, can you. 3 Points of Pies.

And with that settled, i shall leave you to organise your own pie day celebrations. Comment me with ideas, what you're doing, or your favourite kind of pie. Mine's apple ;)

It's Raining, It's Pooring...

Hello ;)

So, for the fourth day running, it's raining here in boredomesville. Which would be all well and good, but i'm supposed to be doing assignments (as you can probably guess, seeing as i'm writing this...) which really just takes away the joy of RAIN(!) a bit.

To celebrate this rain (and further the procrastination) I'm going to write a list of 7 awesome things to do while it's raining. Why 7, you ask? Because 7 is the best number, of course! Seriously, I was aiming for 10 and got called to dinner. But hey, 7 is actually my favorite number, so there you go...

1. Read a book in bed with your quilt wrapped around you, a mug of coffee beside you and chocolate in your mouth... ok, so i did actually get to do that for a small amount of time today, and let me tell you it is AWESOME!
2. Run around in the rain, having a water fight with your best friend. I've done this a few times before, partly because the drain in our backyard always overflows when it rains even vaguely heavily (think anytime it rains, basically) which is SO MUCH FUN to splash around in. And you need your best bud to share it with
3. Snuggle up in a beanbag and watch a movie. I would suggest one which takes place where it rains alot, or where it snows alot, because a movie in bright sunny California may make you slightly depressed about the movie.
4. PUDDLES! They're pretty much the best invention in the history of ever, with the possible exception of crunchy leaves on paths... splish, splosh, splash away my friends ;)
5. Boardgames. I know, they can be boring, but playing a good game of Monopoly with siblings can be lots of fun. Plus, house rules state that if it's raining, play stops when the rain ends... whoever has the most money (through cash and properties value)
6. Run around to everyone at school and yell "IT'S RAINING!". Yes, it's annoying and yes, it's immature but it's also highly appropriate (it IS raining, after all) and lots of fun. Best performed with another slightly-maturity-challenged individual.
7. UGG BOOTS! because it's raining, it's cold (well, not really, but work with me here). Because it's cold, you get to wear cold weather gear. Because you get to wear cold weather gear, you get to wear Ugg Boots :) which are just the best footwear on the planet. As an added bonus, I've got heals added to mine (because of various foot issues) so i'm also 2 inches taller with them on then barefoot.

Next time it's raining, try and complete at least one of these things... it'll make those blues blow away :)
